Snapshots

On my way to work this morning I saw happy young couples packing up cars, instagrams of plane tickets to Paris and facebook photos from Hawaii. This city is officially in vacation mode! Happy (almost) Memorial Day!

Arriving and Seating at the Theatre

A reader recently asked about etiquette for scooting by strangers in crowded places. Use these theatre rules as a guide!

How to: Hyacinth

Hyacinth are a great flower for this time of year because they're widely available and smell like heaven. But don't cut off those woody stems!

The Valentina

A little love letter to J.Crew's Valentina Pump.

Mornings at Maialino

On a recent Saturday we headed to Maialino with another couple to try out their gossiped-about brunch. It lived up to the hype.

Off the Shelf: Jessica Soffer

I was lucky enough to catch Jessica Soffer, author of Tomorrow there will be Apricots, for brunch at The Butcher's Daughter. The weather was perfect. The conversation was endless. And I had the distinct pleasure of asking an author I admire about what it takes to make a story.

On Being Seated with your Groom

Seating, even at a casual dinner, should always be male-female and couples should never sit together. Unless they're engaged!

Adorable: Adore Floral

Adore Floral is an adorable flower shop on Lafayette Street between Bond & Bleecker Streets. It's a favorite stop of mine when I need some higher quality buds for a dinner party or just want something a little more festive around the house. They have a wonderful selection of bright colors and varietals and the staff is always helpful when answering questions about flower care. I'm guest blogging for the Birchbox Blog this week (link at the full article), so check back later today for tips & tricks for assembling an easy, Spring bouquet featuring Adore Floral flowers (and checkout yesterdays' post on Colorblocking!).

Birthday Bites

To celebrate the birthday of a treasured out-of-town friend, I wanted a sweet treat that was distinctly New York. So I headed to Lafayette for their macaroons.
